South Lakes High School Band is pleased to offer a fundraising concert highlighting the music of American Folk Music of John McCutheon. John provides a variety of American Folk Music instruments in his concert including hammering dulcimers, guitar, and fiddle. His selections include many of folk music favorites and many of his own selections. His music style has been compared to the famous Woody Guthrie and his story telling has been compared to Garrison Keillor. The Washington Post described John as folk music’s "Rustic Renaissance Man.” He will provide a variety of traditional and original folk music using fiddle, banjo, guitar, autoharp, piano, hammered dulcimer and jaw harp. It will be a great family outing for anyone interested in American Folk Music and a chance to support the SLHS Band Program. All proceeds go to support the SLHS Band Program.
