Band Booster Organization

The Band Boosters are a tax-exempt organization dedicated to supporting the band program at South Lakes. Fairfax County does not fund many band expenses so the Booster Association conducts fundraising to meet the needs of the program. The Boosters also provide countless hours of volunteer support ranging from uniform maintenance, providing refreshments and logistical support moving the band. There is always a job to be done to support the band program.

The best way to become involved with the bands' many activities is to become active in the Band Boosters. All band parents are invited to come to Band Boosters meetings which are held once a month, usually on the first Tuesday of the month (Wednesday during marching season), from 7:00pm to 8:00pm in the band room.  (There are always a few exceptions with the dates - please check the schedule below!)

Attending meetings is the best way to find out what is going on with the bands, what our future plans are, and where the band program is heading. The Band Boosters helps decide how fundraising will be done, and has input into how the money will be spent.  Our motto is "Many Hands Make Light Work!"  Please come and find out what is going on with all of the SLHS bands and how YOU can get involved!  There is always a lot to be done, and help is always appreciated.

The Booster organization sponsors this website to facilitate communications with band members and their families. Most communications are delivered via email through the mail list.
